I’m on Unsplash
Platform for those who want to share their photographs with the world of creators, for free
I started uploading on Unsplash about 2 years ago. For more than an year since then, there was only one picture uploaded on my account. As I have started using more images from Unsplash for my own Medium articles, I have also started to upload more of my own photographs. It’s heartwarming to see people downloading these images and making use of them in one way or the other.
This is the first picture I uploaded on my account. It’s from a concert in a small village in the hills of a small north-eastern state in India. The artist in this picture is Pavithra Chari, who has learnt from Shubha Mudgal. In this gig, Pavithra was performing with her husband Anindo Bose, the famous keyboardist and arranger who is also a part of the groundbreaking Indian music collective called Advaita.
I just checked my Unsplash stats page after a very long time today and found out that quite a lot of people are visiting and liking my photographs. I’m thinking of uploading more.
The following one is the most popular photograph from my uploads. It is from one of the concerts during the same music festival as the picture before.
I’d leave you with the one I like best. It’s a picture of a Sadhu who I saw at Sangam (the confluence of Ganga & Jamna rivers in Allahabad). There are some faces that you just see and never forget. This is one of those faces for me. The life experience, the wisdom this guy has should be nothing short of amazing. But the thing about faces is, they don’t reveal much. He could also be a criminal. Less likely, but could be. :)
